FINAL RESULTS

NAMPA, Idaho - Behind solid finishes in the pole vault and sprints, the Knight men climbed to 7th place in the final standings at the Cascade Conference Track & Field Championships, held at Northwest Nazarene University and sponsored by U.S. Bank. The Warner Pacific women slipped back slightly on the second day, to 7th place overall.

Leading the way for the Warner Pacific men was Ka'imi Scott, who wrapped up his Knight career with a 2nd place finish in the 100 meters (10.84 sec), and a 4th place finish in the 200 meters (21.88 sec).

In the pole vault, the Knights went 1-2 as Jonathan Clark and Connor Streed both cleared 4.30 meters with Clark claiming the conference title in a jump-off.

Laron Daniels scored points for the Knights in the triple jump, leaping to a distance of 13.36 meters which was good for 3rd place. Kenny Helmes also helped the Knight cause with a 6th place finish in that event (12.96 meters).

On the ladies side, Christi Avery concluded her outstanding career as a Knight with a 7th place result in the 100 meters (12.64 sec), and a 3rd place finish in the 200 meters (25.46 sec).

Kiki McDonagh posted a personal best in the 100 meter hurdles (15.63 sec), and put points on the board for Warner Pacific with a 7th place finish.

The tradition of solid women pole vaulters continues for the Knights, as Emily Potts and Matice Dameron placed 6th and 7th respectively. Potts cleared the bar at 2.95 meters - a personal best, while Dameron cleared a height of 2.80 meters.

"It was a good championship meet for us and I'm proud of the effort of our athletes," said coach David Kilian. "As with any championship meet, we had some marks that didn't meet our expectations, but we also had several athletes that scored surprise points for our team. It is always a thrill to see a Knight on the podium and we had several this weekend. We will build on this and continue to add depth and talent to our program going forward."

The Knight Track season is not quite finished, as two athletes will compete at the NAIA National Championships later this month. Jessica Kepfer will run the marathon, and Deborah O'Dell will enter the high jump event.
