Salem, Ore.| Warner Pacific track and field participated at the Corban Indoor (Outdoor) Open yesterday and only had one competitor compete. However, that one competitor made out a winner in the form of Frederick Watkins who took the victory in the Men's 1 Mile event. Watkins finished the mile in a staggering 4:31.26 which bested the second place finisher Aaron Barron Pinter who finished the mile in 4:34.17. Watkins blew past the field winning by about three full seconds. 12 competitors lined up for this race but only ten competed with Watkins besting all of them.

"This was a great conifdence booster for Fred," Head Coach Ben Barber said. "He ran smart and poised which is good. However, this is far from what he is capable of. We celebrate the win, but are looking to get him in some more competitive races to see if we can't get a PR or NQ in the coming weeks."
