• The Short Story: Warner Pacific notched their first win of the season in a 3-0 sweep of William Jessup at the UC Merced tournament. The Knights withstood a stron challenge from WJU in set one, but emerged with the straight set win after comfortable victories in sets two and three.
Janessa White again led the way for WPC, putting in mine kills during the match. WP also improved considerably in attacking efficiency, swinging at a season best .211 percentage.
How It Happened• WP found themselves trailing in set one 19-15 before reeling off five straight points to take the lead.
• Nicole Lisoski put down a pair of kills in the final stages to help the Knights claim the 25-22 win.
• Set two belonged to the Knights from the start as they built an insurmountable 10-2 lead.
• The Warriors put up a fight in set three, and looked to prolong the match while clinging to a 16-15 advantage.
• Nicole Lisoski again came up with pair of kills, but had help in the form of two winners from her sister Mikaela in this set.
• The Knights also capitalized on four WJU hitting errors.
