Knights Stay Perfect With Win at Lewis & Clark

Lindsay Loe leads the way with 21 points

PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific women's basketball moved to 3-0 on the season with a 73-60 win over Lewis & Clark today in a non-conference contest. 

The Basics

• Score: Warner Pacific 74, Lewis & Clark 60 
• Records: WPC (3-0), LC (0-4)
• Location: Pamplin Center, Portland, Ore.
• The Short Story: With the game tied midway through the third quarter, visiting Warner Pacific outscored the host Pioneers 36-23 in the final 15 minutes en route to a 13-piont victory. Lindsay Loe led all scorers with 21 points, shooting 8 of 12 for Warner Pacific. She had six rebounds, second only to teammate Taylor Howlett's game-high seven boards. Kyeli Hendryx scored 17 points and Daesha Jackson added 12 points.

How it Happened

• Warner Pacific surged ahead 10-7 before L&C went on an 8-0 run on a lay-in by Miyah Leith and back-to-back threes by Natalie Kelly. 
• The Knights answered back by scoring 15 of the first 21 points in the second quarter to build a one-point lead 31-30 at the end of the half..
• Kaitlin Mathewson gave Lewis & Clark a 32-31 lead two minutes into the third quarter before Loe brought the Knights back up by one a minute later. There were eight lead changes in the game along with six ties, the first of the second half coming at 35-35 with 5:52 remaining in the third quarter.
• The teams exchanged baskets for the most part until Howlett nailed a three with 3:36 remaining in the third quarter to break a 37-37 tie and start an 11-4 run that nearly ended the quarter. Mathewson made two free throws to bring the Pios within five points at the end of the period.
• In the fourth quarter, Hendryx scored 11 points and Jackson added six to help the Knights outscore Lewis & Clark 25-17 over the 10 minutes.
