PORTLAND, Ore. - Jared Valentine won his 100th game as head coach at Warner Pacific, guiding his team to a 89-72 decision over Evergreen tonight. 

The Short Story 

Earl Jones scored a season high 26 points to pace the Knights to their third CCC win in as many tries. With the result, Coach Jared Valentine reached the 100 win mark in just his 5th season in charge of the WPC program. Collin Malcolm came off the bench to contribute 19 points, helping to hold off an upset minded squad from Evergreen. The visiting Geoducks trailed by just three points (62-59) midway throught the second half, but a 12-0 run by the Knights rebuffed the challenge.

How it Happened
.
• Warner Pacific controlled the early action, and built a 24-14 lead after Spencer Bankofier made a three point goal.
• The Geoduck effort was unflagging however, and the visitors clawed back to within one point (39-38) after a layup and a trey from Frankie Johnson.
• Jones sparked a 10-0 run to close the half for WP however, scoring from distance and converting two free throws.
• The teams traded baskets for several minutes to start the second period, but Evergreen caught fire and drew within three points at the 12:23 mark.
• After a Knight miss the Geoducks had a chance tie, but the game turned when Malcolm grabbed a rebound, dribbled coast to coast and scored bringing the home crowd to life. 
• That play was the catalyst for the 12-0 burst by Warner Pacific, and the Knights enjoyed a double-digit advantage the rest of the way.
