ASHLAND, Ore. – The eighth-ranked Southern Oregon women's basketball team was in cruise control early before asserting itself in the second half in time to win Friday night, 82-56 over Warner Pacific at Riehm Arena.
Six players scored nine or more for the Raiders, who improved to 24-3 overall and 14-3 in the Cascade Conference while running their home win streak to 15 games dating back to last season.
SOU was led by Courtney West 13 points and seven rebounds and Kristen Schoenherr's 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Schoenherr, Alexi Smith and West combined for 22 points on 8-for-13 shooting after halftime, helping the Raiders expand a nine-point lead with a 46-29 advantage in the second.
Jordan Wilcox scored 14 of her game-high 24 points in the second half for the Knights (11-18, 4-13).
WPC shot 30 percent in the game, and SOU pounced by going 19-for-31 in the second period. What was a 30-26 SOU lead with two minutes left in the first became 47-33 at the 15-minute mark.
The Raiders have won their last three home games by an average of 29 points.
