Jones, Tarr, Thomas Named All-CCC, Valentine Coach of the Year

Michael Hall voted co-defensive player of the year

LA GRANDE, Ore. – After a 25-win season and a CCC Co-Championship, post-season accolades rolled in for the Warner Pacific men's basketball team. Four Knight players received All-CCC awards and Jared Valentine was voted Cascade Conference Coach of the Year.

Earl Jones, Coletun Tarr, and Doug Thomas were voted 1st Team All-CCC thanks to outstanding individual performances. Jones, a junior from Henderson, Nevada averaged 15.5 points per game while shooting 50% from the field. Tarr, a senior from Milwaukie, Oregon, was third on the team in scoring at 13.8 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game. Thomas,a senior from Aloha, Oregon, concluded his remarkable four-year career by leading the team with 16.1 points per game, while also contributing 4.6 rebounds per game and a team high 49 steals.  

Michael Hall shared the conference's defensive player of the year award with Tyler Velasquez from Concordia. Hall, a senior forward from Eagle River, Alaska, tallied the fourth most blocks in the CCC with 41, helping the Knights finish the season with the best ranked defense, allowing only 63.7 points a game.
 
Valentine was chosen as the coach of the year after leading his team to a 14-4 record in conference play to earn a piece of the CCC regular season title. His Knights ranked as high as 15 in the NAIA Men's Basketball Division II Top 25 poll and made it to the semifinal round of the Cascade Conference postseason tournament.
