COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – The Warner Pacific volleyball team put their second CCC win of the season in the books with a 3-0 sweep of Walla Walla yesterday.
The Knights jumped out to an early 7-2 lead and held it for much of the set but the Wolves fought back to earn a tie then got their first lead of the set at 21-20 off a Lexi Shanko kill. WP regained control and
Mikaela Lisoski served the set out.
Both offenses were on fire in set one, as each ended the frame over .500 in attacking percentage. The Wolves were led by Emily Allen and Perri Shanko who had three kills each and no hitting errors. The Knights were led by
Nicole Kincaide,
Janessa White and
Grace Rivers all scoring five kills each.
It was Walla Walla University who jumped out to an early lead in set two but couldn't hold on as Warner Pacific's serving got hot led by
Kendra Henry who tallied 3 aces in the set in a 25-19 victory.
Set three started with an ace for WWU but Warner Pacific fired back with six straight points. The Wolves battled back to take a 21-20 lead. Both teams traded points until Warner Pacific earned the final two to win 25-23.
Stat leaders for the Knights were
Janessa White with a match high 17 kills.
Kendra Henry had 11 digs and three aces while
Kealia Rosa totaled 41 assists.
