#7 Eastern Oregon Powers Past WP

PORTLAND, Ore. - Eastern Oregon used nearly mistake free play to sweep past Warner Pacific in straight sets tonight at C.C. Perry Gym.

The Basics

• Score: Eastern Oregon 3, Warner Pacific 0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-17)
• Records: WPC (4-6, 3-4 CCC), EOU (12-1, 7-0 CCC)
• Location: C.C. Perry Gym, Portland, Ore.
• The Short Story: The NAIA No. 7 ranked Mountaineers powered past Warner Pacific by hitting .500 as team and committing just four errors over three sets of play. The host Knights responded by attacking at a respectable .244 percentage, but it wasn't enough versus a nearly flawless effort from EOU. 

How it Happened

• WPC had trouble with service reception in set one, and fell behind 13-4 in the early going. 
• The Mountaineers showcased their efficient attack and closed out the set by winning 25-11 and committing just one error.
• The Knights got off to a better start in set two, and led 6-4 after back-to-back kills from Grace Rivers
• Sideouts became difficult for Warner Pacific to get at that point, and EOU surged to a 19-10 lead and cruised to the set win.
• Set three belonged to Eastern Oregon also thanks to a 5-0 run to make the score 12-5.  
• Kills from Nicole Kincaide and Rivers brought WP to within 20-15, but EOU slammed the door with three straight points.
