PORTLAND, Ore. –
Frank Orellana tapped in a goal with less than a minute left in the second overtime period to give Warner Pacific (2-6-6, 1-4-2 CCC) their first CCC win of 2016. The freshman gave the Knights a 2-1 victory over an upset-minded Multnomah squad.
The visiting Lions (2-9, 0-7 CCC) took the lead in the 27th minute with a well-worked goal. Austin McKee lofted a pass into the box, which was chested down by Noe Favila then finished nicely by Edgar De Los Santos.
MU tried to see the game out and nearly accomplished it, but WPC finally broke through in the 86th minute.
Matt Danielson redirected a header from
Harry Pilkington, rescuing the Knights from defeat in regulation and sending the contest to overtime.
The extra time belonged to the hosts, as WP outshot Multnomah 7-0 in overtime and earned the game winner with 47 seconds left in the game.
Coy Woods tracked down a pass on the left flank, then found Orellana who poked home his first career goal.
