PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific could muster only 28% shooting from the floor, resulting in a 78-44 non-conference loss to Whitman College tonight.
The Knights could not find the range versus the visiting Blues who employed a full court defense for much of the contest and forced WP into 21 turnovers for the game.Â
Whitman owned the first quarter and jumped out to a 26-8 lead over the first 10 minutes. WPC righted the ship somewhat in the 2nd quarter and held the Blues to just 11 points in the period. Unfortunately the Knights could not take advantage and scored just 11 points also.
The second half belonged to the visiting team as well thanks to solid pressure defense and a sizeable rebounding advantage.Â
Darbi Pink led WPC with 10 points and hit a pair of shots from the the three point line.
Micaela Bitanga added nine points and six rebounds.
