PORTLAND, Ore. - With just six players in uniform, Warner Pacific couldn't keep up with Northwest Christian tonight, falling 97-53.
As expected the host Knights had difficulty scoring the ball, but managed to hang around in the first half and trailed by just 13 (40-27) at halftime.
The third quarter was the decisive period, as NCU heated up from long range and clamped down defensively. The visiting Beacons made 12 of 25 shots from distance after halftime to run away, and scored over the top of the WPC zone to make 17 of 40 for the game.
The fourth quarter was an even affair, but the damage had been done and with the result, NCU claimed their seventh Cascade Conference win.
Monique Thompson and Jenni Hoffert scored 15 points each to lead NCU, while Hannah Emonds grabbed nine rebounds to help the Beacons to a 49-35 edge in that category.
WPC was led by Kyeli Hendryx with 21 points and eight rebounds.
