Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

WP Women Drop Two CCC Road Games

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Warner Pacific women's basketball team made their annual trip down I-5 last weekend, coming away with losses at Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon.

Oregon Tech 88, Warner Pacific 57

A dismal 1st quarter put the Knights in a big hole, and the team could not recover in a 88-57 loss at Oregon Tech on Saturday. WP fell behind 27-8 after the first 10 minutes of play and shot just 25 percent in the first half.

The rest of the game was a much more even affair, but Ashley Vandenbrink shot over the top of the Knight defense for eight three pointers on 13 attempts to lead OIT to the comfortable win.

Michaela Pin ranged inside and out for a season high 18 points to lead the Knights.

Southern Oregon 114, Warner Pacific 71

Majerle Reeves drilled seven 3-pointers to score 21 points and lead seven players in double figures for third-ranked Southern Oregon, which was a 114-71 winner over Warner Pacific on Sunday afternoon.

The Raiders (21-1 overall, 14-0 Cascade Conference), winners of 21 straight, had a 57-5 advantage in bench points over the undermanned Knights (4-20, 2-12), who only had six players available for the third game in a row.

Freshman reserve Daranda Hinkey had 15 points and five assists, and Toria Bradford added 10 points, eight assists and five steals -- giving her 16 steals on the weekend. The Raiders shot 55 percent from the floor (40-of-73) while posting their third-highest point total of the season.

Bailey Allen's 21 points, five steals and four assists paced the Knights.
