Knights Turn Over Linfield, 74-68

PORTLAND, Ore. – Bailey Allen scored 21 points, and the Warner Pacific defense forced 29 turnovers to send the Knights past Linfield College tonight in Portland 74-68.

WPC (5-7, 2-1 CCC) got off to a hot start, sprinting out to a 9-2 lead in the first few minutes of the game. The visiting Wildcats (4-5, 1-1 NWC) settled in and slowly closed the gap, trailing just 15-17 after Paige Graham hit a three pointer at the 1st quarter buzzer.

The Knights maintained a small lead through most of the 2nd period, and led by six (24-18) after Grace Prom drove the lane and scored. Linfield did not go away, and took a slim lead (32-31) at halftime thanks to a pair of free throws from Graham in the final moments.

The teams traded the lead five times in the 3rd quarter, but WP took the lead for good in the final minute behind four straight points from Michaela Pin.

Seven points from Prom in the opening action of the 4th quarter allowed WP to move out to a 61-50 advantage with 4:54 left in the game. The Wildcats attempted a final rally, and Graham nailed two more long three pointers to cut the gap to a few as four points. The Knights made seven of 10 attempts from the free throw line in the final 60 seconds to seal the win.

In addition to Allen's 21 points, Prom finished with a season best 16 points and added four steals. Deepika Kapil made her Knight debut, contributing eight points and five rebounds.

Paige Graham and Molly Danielson shared team high scoring for Linfield with 16 points each.
