PORTLAND, Ore. –
De'Jon Bowman posted his fourth double-double of the season and second in as many games to help #25 Warner Pacific defeat Walla Walla for the second night in a row, 86-68, tonight at Bart Valentine Court.
Bowman hit for 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, leading the host Knights (10-3, 5-0 CCC) to their sixth win in a row.
WP again jumped out to a big lead in the first half. WWU stayed within reach for the first 15 minutes of period one, but Warner Pacific outscored the Wolves 14-1 in the final 5:01 of the half to take command and lead 54-29 as the teams headed to the locker rooms.
Xavier Cannefax scored all 18 of his points before halftime on a variety of drives to the rim and makes from distance.
Bowman did much of his damage in the second half, hitting the glass for five offensive rebounds and six points at the rim.
The visiting Wolves (5-7, 1-3 CCC) scored at a respectable 45 percent clip for the game, but 19 turnovers prevented any sustained runs. Wesley Burke (13 points) and Dinesh Brown (10 points) were the top scorers.
Morris Bethea added 11 points for Warner Pacific. The Knights made just 13 of 26 tries from the line.
