Bench Scoring Leads WPC Over Wolves

PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific turned to their bench for 39 points and defeated Walla Walla for the second time in as many days, this time by the score of 75-66.

Katelyn Rossback and Jordan Kujawski came off the bench to score 12 and 10 points respectively, helping the host Knights (7-7-, 4-1 CCC) hold off a spirited effort from WWU. Rossback scored all 12 of hers in the 4th quarter, and the Knights needed her offensive spark to hold off the Wolves (2-6, 0-4 CCC) who trailed by just five points (52-47) at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Walla Walla handled the full court press much better in this contest, and were aggressive in transition. Sarah Halverson was especially effective in attacking the basket and finished the game with 24 points including a 13-13 mark from the free throw line. The Wolves ended the game at 40 percent shooting from the field, but could only manage 5 of 26 accuracy from three point range.

After a rough first half offensively, WPC found a little more success in the second half, hitting 14 of 30 shots after the break. Darbi Pink tossed in 10 of her team high 16 points in the second period, hitting 4 of her 8 attempts from distance for the game.
