Knights Complete Comeback with OT Win over Northwest

PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific erased a 10 point 4th quarter deficit to force overtime, then led wire-to-wire in the extra period to edge Northwest, 81-77, at Bart Valentine Court tonight.

The host Knights (3-7, 1-1 CCC) received a lift from their bench during the 4th quarter and overtime. Katelyn Rossback and Grace Prom hit crucial three pointers in the 4th period, and then scored two points each in OT to push WP to the win.

It was Northwest (2-6, 1-1 CCC) that started the game with the hot hand, connecting on 17 of 29 shot attempts in the 1st half, many of them layups as they broke the Knight full court press. Hannah Carlson tossed in 11 points to lead the Eagles to a 40-33 lead at the break.

The second half was a different story, as NU dropped to 24 percent from the field while Warner Pacific started to find the range from behind the arc. Prom, Rossback, and Darbi Pink made two treys each to bring the Knights back.

After Miranda Langenhorst made a free throw with 7:26 remaining in regulation, NU enjoyed a 57-47 lead. That is when the Knights mounted their comeback, and actually led 68-64 after one of Pink's three pointers with 55 seconds on the clock. Andie Kristinat bombed in a long three pointer to move NU back within one point, and then Kalee Fowler tied the game with 0.4 left with a pair of free throws to send the game to overtime.

In the extra period, WPC made just one field goal, but made nine of 14 from the line while holding the Eagles to just seven points to claim the Cascade Conference victory.

Mariah Stacona led NU with a game high 21 points, but made just four of 21 shots while going nine of 10 from the line. Miranda Langenhorst was a force inside with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Darbi Pink tossed in 16 points to lead WPC, which included a 4 of 9 effort from behind the arc. Katelyn Rossback scored a season best 14 points, while Emily Peters (14) and Grace Prom (13) were also in double figures. Kendyl Cone grabbed a season best 12 rebounds.
