Knight Women Pick Up Win Over Corban at Home

PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific women's basketball picked up a key home victory, holding off Corban by the score of 72-65 at Bart Valentine Court tonight.

Deepika Kapil scored 14 points for the game, including six in the 4th quarter to help hold off a Corban rally. The junior made all four of her free throw attempts, and the Knights made 21 of 26 overall.

After Shasta Lofgren scored inside for WP to open the final period, the Knights enjoyed their largest lead of the game (55-54). The visiting Warriors slowly chipped away at the gap, and trailed by just one point (64-63) with 1:51 remaining. Warner Pacific proceeded to make two free throws on three straight possessions, and held Corban to a single field goal the rest of the way.

Bailey Allen (12 points), Grace Prom (13 points), and Darbi Pink (10 points) all reached double figures for WP. Pink added a career high five steals as the Knights forced 22 turnovers while committing just 13 of their own.
