PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific finally came out on the positive side of a five-set match, as the Knights outlasted Northwest Christian 3-2 (25-22, 26-28, 25-20, 16-25, 15-12) tonight in Portland.
The two teams traded set wins until the 5th, which the host Knights managed to take 15-13 and put a tally in the win column of the CCC standings.
Melisa Ljuca put down 22 kills to lead all players, and WP as a team finished with 68 compared to 51 for NCU. The visiting Beacons kept it close with 10 service aces and 14 blocks at the net.
WPU improved to 5-11 overall and 4-7 in CCC play, while NCU dropped to 7-10 and 2-8.
