SALEM, Ore. - The WPU men's soccer team suffered their second close loss in as many games, falling 1-0 to Linfield College today in Salem.
Despite WP enjoying a 17-8 advantage in shots, it was Linfield that converted when the chance came. Luca Mallon found space in the 81st minute, and hit the corner with his try from 18 yards out.
Warner Pacific spent much of the game on the front foot, generating 9 corner kicks to Linfield's 0 but could not find the net.
"With 9 corners and 17 shots, it's hard to believe we didn't put several away today," said coach
Troy Ready. "We'll keep working to improve. We need a little more bite to our game in the final third."
