PORTLAND – After falling behind twice, Warner Pacific responded each time to complete a comeback win, 3-2 (23-25, 25-22, 15-25, 25-26, 15-5) over intercity foe Multnomah in CCC volleyball action tonight at Jim Skagen Court.
Both teams were mistake prone early, with WPU misfiring on attacks at the net while Multnomah was giving away points at the service line. The Knights committed 27 hitting errors through the first three sets and found themselves down 2-1.
WP flipped the switch starting with set four, pounding out 16 kills versus just two errors in the convincing 25-16 win.
Lauren Tennyson came alive with five kills in the set.
The deciding set started off tight, but the Knights scored the final seven point to win going away.
Lauren Jones swung for three kills in the frame to spark WP.
Melisa Ljuca overcame a slow start to finish with 13 kills, while added eight winners.
Meghan Turner led the defense with 21 digs.
