PORTLAND -
Gabe Garrett scored a season high 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, leading Warner Pacific to a 80-64 win over Eastern Oregon today at Bart Valentine Court.
Though the final score was firmly in favor of the home team, it was EOU that started fast by taking a 8-2 lead. A quick 8-0 run from WPU swung the game and the Knights never trailed again, taking a 36-30 advantage into halftime.
The Knights (12-7, 4-5 CCC) continued to shoot over the EOU zone defense in the 2nd half, eventually making 11 of 26 from behind the arc.
Jalen Ballard led the way with three makes. The Knight lead eventually reached as many as 18 late in the game.
The visiting Mountaineers (9-10, 5-4 CCC) struggled from the three point line, hitting just 3 of 16 attempts. Leading scorer Jordan May went down early with an injury and was held scoreless. Landon Jones scored 18 to lead the team on the offensive end.
