ASHLAND, Ore. – The Cascade Conference's top defense couldn't extend far enough to stop the Southern Oregon University women's basketball team on Saturday night at Lithia Motors Pavilion.
The Knights came into the game allowing a league low 62 points per game but the host Raiders were on fire in the first half from the three point line, hitting 10 of 20 tries. SOU built a 31-12 lead after the first quarter that WP could not overcome.
Trailing 48-34 at halftime, the Knights chipped away to 71-64 with 8:21 left, but were held to one field goal over the next six minutes.
Kendyl Cone scored a team-high 12 points to go with four steals for the Knights, while
Bailey Allen had nine points, five assists and four more steals.
Allen has moved into 2nd place into the all-time career steals list at WPU with 191.
