Portland, Ore. | Warner Pacific hosted the No. 10 Raiders of Southern Oregon on Friday night. They fell 0-3 in a 25-17, 25-23 and 25-17 set match.
Â
The Raiders had an overall hitting percentage of .295 on the night as opposed to the Knights' .133. The match seemed to be dominated offensively by SOU as Portland native Taylor Ristvedt tallied an astonishing 16 kills and hit for .583 in front of her hometown crowd.
Â
The first set was run by the Raiders who ended up sealing it with a 25-17 victory. The Knights, in what has been their story as of late, put up a fight in the second match as they were able to force the Raiders to win by two. After the break, the Raiders' offense continued to be too hot for the Knights, and claimed their shutout on the Knights' home court.
Â
The Knights were led, again, by
Audree Gormanson and
Grace Buchanan, each with 7 kills.
Mercedes Massey held the back line together with 11 digs.
Â
The Knights will continue home play Saturday as they face the Owls of Oregon Tech in what they hope to be a revenge match after a 5-set thriller in September. The match is set for 5pm.
