Knights Roll Past Lions; Jackson Scores 27

Portland, Ore. | In the battle of 82nd avenue, the Knights came out victorious in a 77-56 win  over the Multnomah Lions on Tuesday night. Courtney Jackson led all scorers with a season-high 27 points, shooting 5-12 from deep, while adding eight rebounds. Following Jackson in scoring was Kali Kruger with 15 points, six boards and five blocks.

The Lions came out hot on their home floor, opening the game on a 15-5 run before the Knights were able to find an offense. The Knights managed to catch up and pull the game within five points at the end of the first quarter. Warner Pacific's defense picked up in the second quarter, as they managed to hold the Lions to just six points in the second quarter, heading into the break with a 32-25 lead.

Courtney Jackson was able to find her way around the bucket in just about every way as the Knights scored 27 points in the third quarter, extending the lead to twenty. The Lions wouldn't go down that easy, managing to pick up a few steals and converting on the other end, with about eight minutes remaining in the game, it was a fifteen-point lead. Courtney Jackson hit a deep three to extend the lead, and the Knights continued rolling to the end.

With Kruger's five blocks, she moves to number two in the Cascade Collegiate Conference in blocked shots, averaging just over 2.5 a game.

Coming off the bench, Jackson is the Knights' leading scorer, averaging 14.3 points per game.
Gabriella Bruno added nine points and seven boards on the night.

With a bye weekend coming up, the Knights will have 11 days without a game and will be back in action on Friday January 31 as they host Eastern Oregon with a scheduled tip-off of 5:30pm.
