Knights Fall in Klamath Falls

Klamath Falls, Ore. | The Warner Pacific Knights fell to the Lady Owls of Oregon Tech 67-76 on Friday night. The Knights move to 12-15, 9-10 CCC and the Lady Owls to 18-11, 12-7 CCC with one more regular season game remaining.
 
Gabriella Bruno led all scorers with 19 points, including a perfect 8-8 from the foul line.
 
The Knights came out to a hot start, leading the Lady Owls 13-0 in the first four minutes of play but OIT managed to rally for the second part of the first quarter and cut the lead to nine.
 
Throughout the second quarter, the Knights continued to battle and take it to the Lady Owls, managing to extend the lead back out to double-digits. With the first half winding down, the Lady Owls hit six-straight free-throws, cutting the lead to four with eight seconds left. WPU's Payton Whitmore was fouled and sent to the line at the buzzer of the first half where she sunk both charity shots, giving the Knights a six point lead heading into the break.
 
The five that started the game for the Knights contributed 30 of the teams 34 first half points.
 
OIT came out of the half determined to close the gap. The Lady Owls started the second half with a 20-3 run in eight minutes, managing to go from trailing by six, to leading by nine. With two minutes to go in the third quarter, the Owls had flipped the switch. At the end of three, OIT had come back and taken a five-point lead.
 
Despite their best fourth quarter effort, the Knights couldn't change the minds of the Lady Owls who had made it clear they weren't going to let WPU take a win from them on their home floor. OIT finished out the game with a 6-1 run to seal the victory.
 
Each team shot extremely well from the charity stripe; Warner Pac was 18-23 and the Lady Owls were 22-28.
 
Kali Kruger finished with four blocks, Anna Farner with six rebounds and Samantha Morgan with four assists.
 
OIT's Amanda Constant finished with 18 points and 9 rebounds.
 
The Knights will close out the regular season at Southern Oregon on Saturday night with a 5:30pm scheduled tip-off.
 
Playoff schedules will be released and posted on Sunday.
