Kirkland, Wash. | Gabriella Bruno set a new school record for most points scored in a game with 40 on Saturday night as the Knights completed the comeback against the Northwest University Eagles.

Warner Pacific trailed Northwest for the first 19-minutes of the game before taking a one point lead to go into halftime. They then held onto the lead for the remainder of the contest, stretching it to as much as 20.

Coming out of the gates, the Knights were a little sluggish, only putting up nine points in the first quarter while allowing the Eagles to jump out to a 17-9 start. In the second quarter, the Knights were playing catch-up, determined to condense and eventually take over the lead. They did just that.
Samantha Morgan and Genna Schoen each stepped it up, scoring the first 12 points for the Knights. Between those two and Bruno, the Knights managed to head into halftime with a 34-33 lead.

After the break, the Knights went on a 15-0 tear and within a matter of five minutes, the lead had stretched to 16. From then on, the game was dominated by WPU. The offense continued to steam roll the Eagles, taking a 20 point lead with 13 minutes left to play.

In the final quarter of play, with a 15-point lead and breathing room for the Knights, Bruno continued to work. The Junior out of Lake Oswego scored 13 points in the quarter, going on a solo 8-0 run. After a scary start, the Knights were able to handedly finish the job and secure another win with playoffs right around the corner.

The Knights shot 54.2% from the field (54.5% from deep) and 81% from the stripe on the night.

Bruno filled the stat line with 40 points on 14-22 shooting (5-6 from 3; 7-8 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals. Behind her was
Darbi Pink with 15 points, four rebounds and five assists.
Anna Farner grabbed eight boards.

For Northwest, Sam Van Loo finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

Warner Pacific will close out the regular season home campaign next weekend first with Corban University on Friday, then Northwest Christian University for Senior Night on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm in CC Perry Gymnasium.
