Caldwell, Idaho | A tough night at the office for the Warner Pacific University Women's Volleyball team (1-20, 1-17), as they fell in straight sets to the host College of Idaho Yotes, 13-25, 16-25, 19-25.
Just nothing going for the Knights offensively or defensively in tonight's contest, as the team collectively was forced into a corner by the Yotes' potent offense that swung at a .396 kill% for the match. Due to the Yotes' high rate of scoring, the Knights were obligated to play more defensive in order to protect their side of the court, rather than being able to spread the ball out and provide the outside and opposite hitters more opportunities to run the score up, making this a closer match.
Sophomore opposite hitter
Tevlin Britten ran the court more effectively than anyone else did tonight in the Warner Pacific Blue, nearly missing out on a double-double with 9 kills in the front court, and 10 digs in the backcourt. Senior setter
Matalasi Laban complemented Britten's attacks with 6 kills of her own, while dishing out 24 assists on the night.
For the Yotes, opposite hitter Danielle Neuman swung the heaviest hand of the evening with a game-high 11 kills, while setter Sydnee Steel hauled in a game-high 19 digs to lead the defensive Yotes unit. Libero Isabelle Combs dropped 4 service aces en route to the College of Idaho's sweep as well.
Returning home for Senior Weekend is the Warner Pacific Volleyball team, who will play host to the Walla Walla University Wolves this Friday at 2pm PST, and then following that up on Saturday for Senior Night celebrations against the Lewis-Clark State College Warriors at 5pm PST.
