Mesa, Ariz. | An unprecedented amount of missed free throws kept the Warner Pacific University Women's Basketball team (0-2) out of the win column in just their second game of the season, as they fell to the Benedictine University of Mesa Redhawks (4-0) today by a final score of 67-71.

A game in which the Knights led in just about every statistical category, the point total from both teams would prove otherwise. Warner Pacific held a 25-7 advantage with point coming off the bench, but the Redhawks starters were able to keep the offensive pressure consistent against the Knights defensive schemes, resulting the Redhawks 4-point victory.

Despite both teams making runs back and forth, resulting in 5 different lead changes over the course of today's game, Benedictine University was able to execute their final lead change with five minutes remaining, just long enough to hold off a pursuant Knights rally.

Leading the scoring for the Knights on the second game of their Arizona road trip was senior guard Courtney Jackson, who had 18 points on 57% field goal shooting to go along with 3 rebounds. Junior guard Peyton Slaga had another big game off the bench for WPU, scoring 12 points with 2 assists in just 19 minutes played.

Playing the facilitator tonight for the Knights was senior guard Anna Farner, who secured 9 rebounds and dished out 5 assists to help keep Warner Pacific in this contest from tipoff.

Redhawks' forward Savanna Crockett dropped a game-high 23 points in the starting rotation for Benedictine University, while adding 8 boards to come two shy of a double-double. Between Redhawks' Crockett and guards Anna Gorman and Sarah Kruthaupt, the three players accounted for over 76% of their team's points in today's contest.

Warner Pacific returns home to Portland, Ore. to play host to the Lewis & Clark College Pioneers this upcoming Thursday for their home opener, which is set to tip-off at 6pm PST.
