The Rundown
Both teams, having just played less than 24 hours ago, came out fighting. The Knights jumped out to a quick six-point lead before the Warriors responded with a 6-0 run, taking the lead after the first quarter of play.
Despite the four-point game after the first ten minutes, fatigue seemed to set in for Warner Pacific; Corban outscored the home team 23-10 in the second quarter to head into the intermission with a 17-point lead, calling for what seems to have become a norm for the Knights, a dominating third quarter.
Out of the break, the Knights did just that. Much like the looks of last night, the Warner Pacific scored 21 third-quarter points to Corban's 13, cutting the lead down to double digits with the likes of a
Lynden Harry 24-footer at the buzzer.
With five minutes to play, it was a one-possession ball game.
Height being something the Knights lack this season, the Warriors capitalized, forcing the ball inside down the stretch, finishing the game with a 7-2 run on their way to a eight point victory.
Corban was nice from the field, shooting 50.9% on the day and 44.4% from the arch. Warner Pacific shot a game 37.9% from the field and 38.1% from deep.
The Knights got it done from the stripe, missing just two foul shots, shooting 85.7% from the stripe.
The Warner Pacific defense forced 24 Corban turnovers while committing 17 of their own. Corban shared the ball nicely with 19 assists.
Gabriella Bruno and
Courtney Jackson finished in double-figures for the third game in a row. Both with 16. Bruno added six boards to her stat line.
Lynden Harry contributed 10 points with four rebounds and three assists.
Corban's Halle Wright led all scorers with 19 while dishing out 10 assists and grabbing seven boards.
