Knights Unable To Get It Done On Senior Night

Portland, Ore. | The Knights took the floor against the Lady Owls for the second day in a row, unfortunately with a similar outcome with a 0-3 defeat. Mercedes Massey closed out her CC Perry Gymnasium career with 11 digs on the lone senior's Senior Night.

The Rundown
The Lady Owls' momentum from last night's 3-0 victory transitioned into tonight's matchup. Keeping the offensive dominance alive, the Lady Owls went on to win 0-3, wining all three sets by at least 10 points.

The Knights hang in there with the Lady Owls for the first part of Set One, keeping it a three-point game until OIT went on a 6-0 run to extend the lead to one Warner Pacific would never quite be able to grasp.

Set Two began with a 6-0 Lady Owl's run before Warner Pacific countered with four points of their own. Alternating the next few points, the two teams battled before once again, the Lady Owls closed out the set with a six straight points to close out the 25-12 victory.

The third and final set showed promise; with WPU and OIT exchanging points virtually every other point through the first 10 points before the Lady Owls eventually finished the match with a 12-4 run to seal the weekend sweep in Portland.

Oregon Tech's height proved to be a big issue for the Knights tonight, tallying seven blocks for the day, led by Ashley Ripplinger's five.

Collectively, the Knight's continue to struggle offensively, but current CCC Player of the Week, Grace Buchanan led all players with 12 kills. Senior Mercedes Massey logged a game-high 11 digs on her Senior Night.

OIT's Courtnney Isom led the Owls with 24 assists, as they coasted to a 2-0 weekend.
