PORTLAND | Suffering their worst loss of the season, the Warner Pacific University Women's Volleyball team lost their 3
rd conference match of the year to the league leading Corban University Warriors in three sets by a final score of 2-25, 12-25, 10-25.
Tonight was just an all-around ugly game for the Knights, who have struggled this season to find any consistent offensive opportunities. The road Warriors took every chance they had to capitalize on the Knights' mistakes, and showed exactly why they are the #7 nationally ranked team in the NAIA.
Senior outside hitter
Grace Buchanan continues to lead this young squad, as she had 10 kills tonight to add to her season totals. Freshman libero
Sabah Mohammady matched the game high with 11 digs, and continues to make a name for herself in the short time she's been a participating athlete in the NAIA/CCC.
Leading the game for the Warriors on the offensive end was junior outside hitter Avari Ridgway, who had 8 kills on 15 attacks, and led all eligible players with 10 or more attacks with a .467 kill%. In the backcourt for Corban, junior libero Kealani Ontai also had 11 digs to lead the defensive unit.
Tomorrow night, the Knights will host conference opponent Bushnell University in a special 20
th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Game, where both teams will garb special pregame shirts supporting our national & local firefighters for their heroic efforts each and every day. The game is slated to begin at 5pm PST, with doors opening to the public at 4pm.
