PORTLAND, Ore.| The Knights fell in their season opener against University of Puget Sound by a score of 75-55 on Friday.
Kicking off the 2022-23 season at home, the Knights welcomed the University of Puget Sound Loggers.
The Loggers quickly got out to a sizeable lead, going on an 11-0 run to open the game. Their momentum held from there as they ended the first quarter up 23-8.
Puget Sound kept a firm hold of their lead throughout the game, being led by Kennedy Brown, who had 26 points on the night, including eight three-pointers.
The Knights offense was led by McKeeley Tonkin, who had 20 points. Emily Brown was also a presence on the floor, bringing in six rebounds and putting up 13 points.
The Knights reduced the deficit all throughout the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough. Puget Sound held on and got the 75-55 win.
The loss drops the Knights to 0-1 on the season. Women's basketball is back in action on Monday, Nov. 14 when they travel to take on Willamette University. Â
