SALEM, Ore.| The Knights got a hard fought 86-81 win over Corban in their matchup on Friday.
In a back and forth matchup, the Knights got key contributions from multiple players to help elevate the Knights over the Warriors.
The game was evenly matched throughout. The Knights and Warriors traded leads multiple times in the first half.
Things changed in the first half when the game was tied at 23-23 with just over six minutes left. From there, the Warriors went on a run and got out to a 10 point lead, their biggest of the game. The first half ended with Corban 42-36 on the Knights.
The Knights fought back in the second half to tie up the game with 12 minutes left. Warner was helped by efficient shooting in the second half, shooting 59% as a team from the floor and hitting all of their free throws in the final half.
After more back and forth action, the Warriors brought the Knights lead down to just 2 with under a minute left in the game. A clutch three-pointer from Caleb Tyree-Morgan with 30 seconds left in the game helped keep Corban at bay. A final layup from Tyree-Morgan with two seconds left in the game secured the win for the Knights and brought the game to its final score of 86-81.
The Knights were boosted by big performances from multiple players throughout the game as four starters for the Knights scored at least 17 points.
Thomas Miles led the team with 24 points and also recorded three steals.
Dakota Reber had 17 points and 10 rebounds to earn his second straight double-double.
Isaac Etter had 18 points, 15 of which came in the second half to bring the Knights back into the game. Caleb Tyree-Morgan also had his best scoring performance of the season by putting up 17 points, including clutch baskets in the closing seconds to secure the win for the Knights.
The win puts the Knights at 4-2 on the season. Men's basketball is back in action on Dec. 3
rd at 5:00 p.m. when they take on Bushnell.
