Knights Reign Supreme Against RMC

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – October 22nd, 2023

Portland, Ore. | The Knights earned an important 3 points today as they took the victory over the Battling Bears of Rocky Mountain College today.

The Knights took the victory today by a final score of 4-1 in front of a solid crowd out at Eastside Timbers Complex. They won yesterday as well so they picked up the maximum amount of season points that they could this weekend which will help them in their quest to make it to the playoffs.

The first goal of the game was scored by Mateo Rusca on a sweet little shot after the dime sent in by Hunter Leach. It was Rusca's second goal of the season. His first goal came in the 7-0 win yesterday against Walla Walla. The second goal of the game was scored by Hunter Leach off of an amazing header. The goal came in the 22nd minute when Brendon Leach had a corner kick that was received via header by Miguel Andalon-Ordaz to the awaiting head of Hunter Leach into the net. The third goal of the game was scored by Gabriel Rincon on an assist by Mateo Rusca and Chanin Orlandin. The final goal of the game was scored once again by Hunter Leach which capped off an amazing weekend for him with 4 goals and an assist.

"Our focus heading into the match was to get more out of our team defending," Head Coach, Troy Ready said. "We showed class throughout our defending phases and limited Rocky to very few attempts on goal. If we can continue making strides collectively on this side of the ball, we're going to be a real force to handle. Especially now that the goals are coming and we're growing in our fluidity and creativity in the final third. We've set ourselves up well for the final weekend at home and are looking forward to finishing strong."
