Portland, Ore. | The Knights unfortunately ran into a very good Jessup University team tonight and lost 93-72 in front of a solid White Out crowd at CC Perry Gymnasium.
The Knights ran into a very experienced Jessup squad tonight and it showed. Jessup was consistent from half to half scoring 44 in the first and 49 in the second on 36-71 shooting good for 50.7 from the field. The Knights were 25-62 from the field for 40.3% for the contest.
The Knights were led by
Matt Solomon who had 17 in his return to the play this evening on 6-12 shooting including 2-5 from three-point range and 3-4 at the stripe.
Maxwell Moses had the 2
nd most points tonight with 16 on 7-10 shooting and 2-2 from the line.
Jessup won the battle on the boards 37-31 and won the turnover battle 12-14. Jessup's starters were all very impressive tonight with three players in double figures. The Warriors starters combined for 60 out of their 93 total points. The Knights starting group combined for 30 points this evening. The bench for the Knights carried the load offensively with 42 points.
The Knights in the second half started down by 22 but made a little rally forcing a handful of turnovers forcing a Warriors timeout as their lead was cut in half to 11. Unfortunately from there, the Warriors built their lead back up and never looked back handing the Knights their first loss of the year falling to 2-1 overall.
