Knights Lose 8th Straight

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – December 15th, 2023

Portland, Ore. | Warner Pacific lost a tough one to Eastern Oregon by a final score of 77-75 after making a ferocious comeback that ultimately fell short making their losing streak balloon to 8.

The Knights went up early 12-3 playing very inspired basketball behind 8 points from Collin Oestereich. From there, Eastern came back to tie the game up at 12 and the rest of the half was back and forth from there. The Knights went into the locker room at half down by 8. They shot a solid 53.8% from the field shooting 14-26. The Knights were led by Matt Solomon in the half who finished with 11.

The second half saw the Mountaineers get hot early stretching their lead to 13 to force an early timeout from Knights coach, Jamayne Potts. After the timeout, the Knights played with their hair on fire roaring back to tie the game at 49 apiece with 12:29 left in the game. From there on out, the game was close with Eastern going out to a 4 point lead that the Knights couldn't seem to break the bubble on. Finally the Knights burst that bubble when Caleb Tyree-Morgan hit a huge 3 and was fouled in the process giving him a free throw which he nailed.

Unfortunately, Eastern built that 4-point cushion again after that and even with two more threes from Tyree-Morgan, weren't able to get back the lead and fell to the Mountaineers.

The Knights as a team shot finished the game shooting 48.1% from the field including 42.9% from distance. The Knights were led in scoring by Caleb Tyree-Morgan who dropped 21 points on 6-8 shooting including 5-7 from three. Matt Solomon had 14 and Collin Oestereich finished with 12.
