Knights Earn Dominant Win Over Evergreen

PORTLAND, Ore.| Warner Pacific men's basketball earned a convincing win over Evergreen on Friday by a score of 96-82.

The Knights (16-8, 13-6 CCC) dominated the court against Evergreen (1-20, 1-17 CCC) thanks in part to a pair of strong performances from Thomas Miles and Darius Traylor.

Warner Pacific and Evergreen went back and forth to open up the game, and after 12 minutes of play the Knights and Geoducks found themselves tied at 24.

Buckets from Miles and Traylor helped the Knights build some momentum late in the first half, and Warner went into the break up by 9.

Warner kept up the pace coming out of halftime as they extended their lead to 15 early in the second half. The Geoducks rallied were able to quickly tighten things up and bring the game within three. However, the Knights went on a 7-0 run to get their lead back up to double digits where it would remain for the rest of the game.

Warner cruised through the remainder of the second half, expanding their lead to as much as 20 and never allowing Evergreen to gain the upper hand. When it was all said and done the Knights would come away with the 96-82 victory.

Thomas Miles and Darius Traylor were Warner's two biggest contributors on the night. Thomas led the Knights with 27 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, while Darius recorded his first double-double of the season; scoring a season high 24 points and getting 10 rebounds.

The win puts the Knights at 16-8 on the season. Men's basketball is back in action on Feb. 11 in their final home game of the regular season when they take on Northwest at 5pm.
