Men's Basketball Earns Senior Night Win Over Northwest

PORTLAND, Ore.| Warner Pacific celebrated senior night with big performances from all three of their seniors as the Knights earned a 93-81 win over Northwest on Saturday.

The Knights (17-8, 14-6) looked to build on their three game win streak in their final home game of the season when they hosted the Eagles (9-17, 6-14) on Saturday.

Momentum changed hands multiple times throughout the first half. The Knights started out with the hot hand, jumping out to an 8 point lead in the opening minutes. After calling timeout and regrouping, Northwest responded by scoring 9 unanswered to take their first lead of the game.

The Eagles were able to extend their lead midway through the first half, capitalizing on a momentary offensive cold spell from the Knights to push their lead to 11.

Facing their biggest deficit of the game, the Knights were able to swing momentum back in their favor and retake the lead before the end of the half. Warner went 8-11 from deep in the last eight minutes of the first half as Isaac Etter and Thomas Miles seemingly tried to outdo each other from beyond the arc.

The offensive barrage gave the Knights a 15 point cushion going into the half.

Warner remained in charge throughout the second half. The Knights pushed their lead to a game high 23 in the second half before the Eagles mounted a comeback effort. Northwest was able to reduce the deficit to single digits, bringing Warner's lead to down nine with five minutes left in the game.

The Knights held off Northwest in the closing minutes of the game as they got the victory by a score of 93-81.

Warner Pacific was carried by huge performances from all three of their seniors as Darius Traylor, Thomas Miles and Isaac Etter all finished with over 20 points. Etter led the Knights with 24 points and 4 assists, while Miles had 21 points and 3 steals. Darius Traylor also scored over 20 points for the second night in a row as he finished with 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.

The win puts the Knights at 17-8 on the season. Warner Pacific men's basketball is back in action on Feb. 17 when they travel to take on Walla Walla.
