PORTLAND, Ore.| Warner Pacific women's basketball dropped their final home game of the regular season on Saturday, falling to Northwest by a score of 58-45.
Coming off the heels of their second win of the season, the Knights (2-23, 2-16) sought to carry that momentum into their matchup against the Eagles (8-17, 6-14).
Northwest jumped out in front early on and never looked back. Despite falling behind in the first, the Knights fought to keep up with the Eagles and found themselves down by five going into the second quarter.
At the start of the second quarter the Knights were able to reduce the deficit to just one. Warner wasn't able to continue their momentum, however, and the Eagles were able to widen their lead to 15 at the end of the half.
Northwest was able to hold off the Knights for the rest of the game. Warner's comeback efforts were undercut by turnover troubles that hurt them throughout the night.
The Knights were led offensively by
Bobbi Clark who scored 12 points and went a perfect 5-5 from the field.
Nicole Mickelson scored a season high 11 for the Knights and was also efficient with her shooting, going 5-6 from the field.
The loss puts the Knights at 2-23 on the season. Warner Pacific women's basketball is back in action on Feb. 17 when they travel to take on Walla Walla.
