LEWISTON, Idaho| The Knights fell to Lewis-Clark State on Saturday in the final game of the regular season by a score of 70-65.
Having already clenched a playoff birth, the Knights (18-9, 14-7) traveled to take on Lewis-Clark State (14-14, 11-11) in the final game of the regular season.
The game was closely contested to start. Although the Knights held the lead for the majority of the first half, the Warriors stayed close, never falling behind by more than 8 in the first half.
With the Knights holding an 8 point lead, momentum shifted in the final minutes of the first half, as Lewis-Clark State went on a 20-6 run to close out the first half. The Warriors late run meant that the Knights went into the half trailing by 6.
The Warriors extended their lead throughout the second half. The Knights were held in check offensively, shooting only 34% in the final half. The Warriors would push their lead to a game high of 17 in the second half.
The Knights rallied late in an attempted comeback. Warner was able to reduce the deficit to just 4 in the final seconds of play, but it was ultimately too late and the Warriors came away with the win by a score of 70-65.
The loss puts the Knights at 18-9 overall on the season. While the loss closes out the 2022-23 regular season for the men's basketball team, the Knights will be back in action at home on Feb. 21 when they host Corban in the first round of conference playoffs.
