Warner Splits the Day Against Bushnell

Milwaukee, Ore-

The Warner Pacific Knights (4-27, 4-20) split today's games versus Bushnell University (11-28, 7-16). Bushnell won the series two games to one.

Game One
Another day another artistic pitching performance painted by Carrigan Foster. The Knights won game one against the Beacons by a final score of 6-3 behind Foster's arm. Foster went all the way through seven only giving up five hits and giving up just three runs all earned. She walked three and struck out an impressive eight. Her strikeout totals are getting absolutely ridiculous. She struck out 19 batters this weekend and over the last two weekends, she's struck out a whopping 41 batters.

The Warner Pac had two, three run innings. One in the second and one in the sixth. As a team, they were extremely efficient scoring their six runs on six hits. Marin Bliss led the way with two. She had a single to right and had an infield hit to the shortstop in the sixth. Jordyn Rosario, Jessie Ramirez, Carrigan Foster, and Emma Foster were the others that checked in with hits. The Knights scored their first runs of the game when Carrigan Foster doubled down the left field line into the corner. That knock scored Jessie Ramirez and Marin Bliss. Foster advanced to third on the throw by the left-fielder and was able to score standing up on a throwing error by the short stop.

In the sixth, Christina Barrett worked out a bases loaded walk. Marin Bliss scored from third and all the other runners moved up one station. Jordyn Rosario proceeded to hit paydirt, pounding a solid single into center field scoring Kassidie Bukoski and Jessie Ramirez. The Beacons threatened and scored two in the seventh but Carrigan was able to work through the inning and shut it down. In doing so, she earned herself the win moving to 3-5 on the year.

Game Two
The Knights lost game two by a score of 8-7 in a longer 2.5 hour game. Warner was once again very efficient scoring their seven runs on seven hits. Jordyn Rosario and Ashley Hawkins both had two hits to lead the Knights. Sammie Brauckmiller, Marin Bliss, and Jessie Ramirez  also checked in with hits.

Jessie Ramirez opened up the scoring for the Knights in the first inning walking with the bases loaded plating Jordyn Rosario. The scoring was capped off in that inning on a sacrifice fly by Carrigan Foster scoring Ashley Hawkins. In the second inning, Sammie Brauckmiller hit a spicy double into the right-center field gap scoring Hawkins, and Rosario. Marin Bliss then came up with her big bat and had the biggest hit of the day blasting a two run four-bagger.

The Beacons made some hay scoring three runs apiece in the third and fifth innings to tie up the game. The Knights picked up a run in the sixth when Christina Barrett alertly broke for the plate and scored from third when Rosario was caught stealing at second.

The Beacons scored two more runs in the sixth inning and held on in the seventh to take the 8-7 victory.

Next Up
The Warner Pac will have their final home stand of the year next week against Southern Oregon University (31-7, 18-4) at Rex Putnam High School, on Friday and Saturday.
