Knights Lose First Two to the Mountaineers

La Grande, Ore-
The Knights (4-33, 4-25) lost both games today to the hands of the Mountaineers (29-17, 18-11) on a beautiful 73 degree day in La Grande, Oregon.

Game One
Warner Pacific had a tough time getting much going in the first game as the Mountaineers pitcher, Kaylie Hoskins, spun a 6 inning perfect game while striking out 16 Knights. The final score was 8-0 in favor of the Mountaineers.

Game Two
The Knights played much better in the second game scoring five runs on seven hits. Ashley Hawkins, Emma Foster, Carrigan Foster, Jovita Laloulu, Christina Barrett, and Jordyn Rosario all checked in with hits in this game. Barrett led the way with two. The first inning started off with a bang when Carrigan Foster hit a dinger to left field scoring herself and Emma Foster who singled through the left side the batter prior. That was Carrigan's third homer of the season. That put the Knights up 2-0 getting out to a fast start. In the second inning, the Knights continued to bash when Ashley Hawkins hit a single through the left side with the bases loaded scoring Christina Barrett. During the very next at-bat, Kassidie Bukoski alertly scored from third on a wild pitch. The final run for the Knights was scored when Christina Barrett hit an absolute tank job of a solo home run to dead center field. For Barrett, that was her third home run of the year. The Knights played a lot better in game two but unfortunately still lost 10-5.
