Warner Pacific Drops Season Opener to St. Martins

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 20th, 2023

Lacey, WA. | The Warner Pacific Men's Soccer team dropped the season opener to Division II opponent, St. Martin's University today in front of 78 fans in Lacey, Washington.

The Knights played a really close game versus a division II opponent. The goal that was scored for the Knights was done by Bryce McCole on an assist from Brendon Leach in the 83rd minute. The Knights had nine shots on goal but the Saints starting goalkeeper, Nick Mueller, stood on his head in a big way saving eight shots. The goal the Knights got in the 83rd minute was against the Saints second string goalkeeper, Connor Leistiko.

Sebastian Winn-Araneda, Isai Rodriguez, and Bryce McCole led the way offensively for the Knights shooting two shots on goal apiece. Hunter Leach and Chanin Orlandin each checked in with the other two shots on goal for the Knights.

The Saints only had two shots on goal which means defensively, the Knights weren't letting the Saints get too many good looks at the net. Unfortunately, the two shots on goal they did get both hit the back of the net.
