The Knights Take Down the Fighting Saints

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 22nd, 2023

HELENA, MT. | The Knights started their longest road trip of the year with a great result winning 4-1 against the Fighting Saints of Carroll College at a rainy Nelson Stadium.

The Knights after starting the year off strong had just came off of two straight losses and needed a good result today in Helena, Montana and they got it. The Knights started the scoring early in the game when Miguel Andalon-Ordaz scored his first goal of the season at the end of the 19th minute. After not scoring any goals in the last two games, scoring early was an important feat for the Knights. The second goal of the game was another first by Omar Seoudy in the 28th minute. The Knights entered the intermission up 2-0 and looking good.

The second half scoring started with the Saints getting their first goal of the game by Luke Rosenberger assisted by Michael Mojzis in the 63rd minute. Right after that goal, the Knights answered in a huge way with a goal by Antonio Cipriano-Ojendiz about a minute after the Saints got their goal. It was a huge way to seize back any momentum that might've just been shifted to the Saints side. That was Antonio's second goal of the season. The final blow for the Knights was a beauty sent in by Hunter Leach assisted by Bryce McCole. It was Leach's second goal of the season and was the fourth assist for Bryce McCole.

"Today's win was an important result for us," Head Coach, Troy Ready said. "It's a massive bus trip spanning several days to play in Montana and sometimes teams can come out lethargic. That was not the case as our group took initiative of the match straight away. Carroll is a very good team and will trouble everyone that plays them. Our job is halfway complete. Another bus trip tonight before the game tomorrow."

The Knights shot nine total shots including five on goal. The Saints goalkeeper, Mathias Gravesen, allowed all four of the Knights goals and had one save. The Saints had an impressive 19 total shots but only six were on goal. Knights goalkeeper, Josepher Juarez-Cruz only allowed the one goal and saved five shots. He moves to 2-2 on the season.

Next Up
