Knights Lose Battle to Northwest

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 22nd, 2023

Portland, OR. | The continued to show huge signs of major growth tonight against Northwest University at C.C. Perry Gymnasium.

The Knights lost in three sets to the Eagles of Northwest University by final scores of 16-25, 19-25, and 24-26. The Knights in the first set scored the first six points of the match but let the Eagles back in the game. The rest of the sets were extremely close, especially the final set. If it wasn't for a couple tough judgment calls by the referees, the Knights would've been in prime position to take the final set.

Elizabeth Reid had an amazing night with 10 kills with an insane .450 hit percentage. Reid's performance tonight brings her kill total to 91 which leads the team by 28 over Maryann Tulele. Kyla Reiling continued to dominate the setter position gaining 14 more assists tonight. The most impressive thing about her performance is that she is playing on a broken foot and is still continuing to play at an extremely high level. Reiling leads the team in assists with 215, which is 180 above second place. Reiling showed a whole bunch of heart tonight.

"Tonight, we found ourselves in a situation where motivation came easy when things were going our way," Head Coach Kim Lissinna said. "We need to strive to stay disciplined when things start to get tough."

The Knights now fall to 1-14 overall and 1-7 in conference play.
