Portland, Ore.|Â The Knights continue to win as they move their record to 2-0 as they take down Montana Western 82-70. The Knights went up early in the first half and never looked back going on a 13 point run to put them up 25-8 before Montana Western could answer back. This led the Knights to be up at half with a score of 47-30, before putting up 35 more in the second half to secure the win.
The Knights shot a 58.8 field goal percentage with 11 threes made during the game. However, where they really took a shooting advantage was at the line as they made 68.8 of their free throws created by fouls. Their largest lead was in the first half as they went up by 18 on Montana Western and that lead kept them comfortable for the remainder of the game.
Defensively, the Knights put on a show securing 29 rebounds total with 22 defensive rebounds. They also had 8 steals and two blocks which kept the Montana Western offense at bay during the game.Â
Scoring wise, Graduate Student Matt Soloman stood out above the rest as he accounted for 27 of the Knights points. Solomon made 5 threes and was 11-17 in from the field. Other stand out players were Senior,
Sean Johnson who put up 18 with 4 threes made and Junior
Tre'von Cason who had 12 points, but also led the team in defensive rebounds with 7.Â
The Knights will continue their home stretch on Tuesday November, 19th at 7pm when the division three University of Puget Sound Loggers come to town. Then on Saturday November 23rd, the Knights will take on Lewis & Clark College at 2pm for their final pre-season game before conference play begins.
