Collin Oestereich Scores Knights Career High in Win

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - November 23rd, 2024

Portland, Ore| The Warner Pacific Men's Basketball team stays undefeated with a big win over Lewis & Clark College with a final score of 75-65.

The Knights led most of the first half, but the Pioneers found a way to slowly claw back and kept themselves in striking distance. This led to the Knights to be leading at half but only by one with a score of 33-32. The second half was a different story though as the Knights came out hot and never looked back putting up 42 in the period.

Offensively, the Knights were clean and quiet as they stuck to their game plan. They shot 53% from the field and only made one three point shot during the game. They were 22-28 at the free throw line and had 40 points off the bench. Once again the Knights were defensively solid, having 32 rebounds, nine of which were offensive and they created 13 turnovers which lead to 20 points. The biggest struggle for the Knights was fouls as they had 22 which led to 15 free points for the Pioneers.

Individually, Collin Oesteriech made his mark off the bench as he put up 21 points, with a 89% shooting percentage and three offensive rebounds. This was his highest scoring game of his Warner Pacific career so far. Junior Terrin Dickey also had his highest scoring game of the season so far with 14. He also contributed on defense contributing six rebounds, two steals and two blocks during the game.

This season is the Knights best record going into conference play in the last 10 years and the Knights hope to show everyone that they deserve a higher ranking then the eighth place they got selected in the Cascade Conference preseason poll. Before starting conference play, they are now tied for first with Eastern Oregon both with 4-0 records.

The Knights next game will begin conference play, as the Multnomah Lions will make the trip to Warner Pacific University. The Knights are 33-4 all time against the cross town rivals and do not plan to make this result any different then the past. Tip is set for 7pm following the women's game at 5pm.
