Portland, Ore.| The Knights Women's Basketball team had a huge win today against Multnomah 82-80 behind a 30-point double-double from
Emily Fortin.
The Knights played possibly their best game of the year today with all but three players scoring at least a point which included three players in double figures. The Knights shot 36.8% from the field including 38.1% from three. The Knights continued to shoot over their team percentage from the charity stripe going 18-23 good enough for 78.3%.
The Knights had an opportunity in the first overtime to take the lead but wasn't able to but that proved to not be the case in the second overtime. With under five seconds left in the second overtime,
Emily Fortin who had been going off the entire game with 28 points, scored a jumper with a couple seconds left to give the Knights a two-point lead and gave Fortin 30 on the night.
"It was a great day to wear the blue and white," Jimmy Smith. "Right now, our energy is contagious and we're going to keep building who we are with it."
This win is huge for the Knights who need to take care of some of the teams that are near the bottom of the conference before they start playing the teams who are at the top of the conference. The Knights are now 5-7 and 2-4 in conference play which continues to give them a fighting chance at making the playoffs.
