Eugene, Ore.| After a stellar pre-season start, the Knights find themselves facing a 85-77 loss against Bushnell University. This moves their overall record to 4-3 and their conference record to 0-3. The Knights came out slow in Eugene finding themselves down 43-29 at halftime. In the second half they were able to score 48, but it was not enough to finish the comeback.
The Knights once again struggled in shooting percentage making only 32 of their 73 attempted field goals and 5 of their 22 attempted three point shots. Their best percentage was at the line where they went 8-9. The second half was when the Knights were able to put it together especially on defense. They had 20 rebounds, seven of which were offensive, eight steals, and caused 10 turnovers. Overall, this led the Knights to have 39 rebounds, 11 steals and cause 15 turnovers during the course of the game.
On the individual level, three Knights stood out and accounted for 54 of their total points. The first was Junior Tre'von Cason who scored 20 points with six steals. The second was Graduate Student Matt Soloman who put up 17 with and went 3-3 on free throws. Finally, was Junior Terrin Dickey who also put up 17 points with seven rebounds.
The Knights will take the week off before continuing their road trip against Linfield University on Saturday December 14th at 7:30pm. They will then travel up to Olympia, Washington to play Evergreen State College on Friday December 20th at 7:30pm as well.
